Charmaceuticals
Created for Mini Jam 66 - Sweets
Start your career as a charmist for Charmaceuticals, the worlds-wide leader in the realm of magical edible medical care. Get to know the residents of a rural town and prescribe them appropriately hexed and enchanted sweets for their own good, as well as yours - can't stay employed if the customers are unhappy!
This is a short slice of what was a hilariously overscoped "baby's first game jam" game. I was inspired by the jam theme of sweets, the two-button limitation, and a recent playthrough of Atelier Ryza to do the concept of a one-screen simulation-style game focused on cute, tasty, magical items and pleasant slice-of-life interactions. For the spooky season and my own artistic limits, I used nondescript humanoid figures in simple and colorful paper masks alongside the pastel item art, and for my own satisfaction, there are a wealth of groan-worthy puns. Enjoy the small bits of worldbuilding, slapdash but cute aesthetics, and glimpses of what's to come in later iterations of this project!

I'm running the Mac version and having a bit of trouble viewing the entire screen, is there any way to resize the window so that the left and right edges are not cut off?
Sorry for the issues! I don't have a Mac to test on so I'm flying a little blind with it. I've just uploaded a web version that should be able to be played in the browser; let me know if it still isn't working for you and I'll see what I can do.
Thanks! Managed to get through the first patient.
It does work in the browser! Just is a bit big and doesn't resize with the window so had to zoom out in the browser.
No problem, hope you enjoyed! And yeah, definitely need to play around a bit with itch settings to perfect it, haha
